Archie's Easter Poem
Since I haven't written anything on my blog in quite a while, and blogs are supposed to also highlight the work of others, I think I'll share a poem sent to me by Archie Davies, a very kind and spiritual man from my ward:
Easter Poem by Archie L. Davies
April 10, 2004
a sea of tears
clouds so dark
screaming winds
Mandkind's fears
on the hill nailed to a cross
Jesus of Nazareth
each drop of blood
from piercing wounds
the thirsty ground
did drink, a mighty heart
quivers in its dying
moments of peace
shattered even more
thunder, lightning flashes
yet thru all this
the Son of man does shine
Salvation for mankind
the Sacrifice is now done
the Atonement for everyone
friend or foe
this Man has died
an innocent lamb
on that day even the rocks
did cry
can we the sheep
do less
