On Holiday

Dear friends and family and loyal blog supporters:

This is probably my last blog entry for a little while. Tomorrow Shelly and I set off on our European Odyssey (that is, our trip to London). My little brother and his wife are there, holding our new neice hostage and not allowing her to see the pleasures of America (of course, when she does come to the USA, we'll spend the rest of her life telling her to "Get Back, Loretta, to where you once belonged!"), so we're going to go visit. We'll get to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor, but we'll also get to see the Houses of Parliament (Shelly's #1 destination) and Stonehenge (mine, although Shelly seems to be threatening veto power).

I'll try to write regular updates on what we're doing in London, and the things I'm seeing and learning, but I probably won't be able to publish them till after Labor Day, when we get back. So in the meantime, if you're starving for Matt/Shelly info, perhaps you would like to check out the new photos I've uploaded to our photo page which chronicle, among other things, our travels to Utah for Shelly's sister Emily's wedding, to Acadia National Park in Maine, and to Cape Cod, where we celebrated my birthday (the first birthday ever where I have had the honor of seeing a wild seal in the ocean (you don't want to see that picture--he's just a black dot on a blue sea)). The new August 2004 album also holds what I believe could very well be the most beautiful picture I have ever taken (except all those I've taken of Shelly), "Acadia Coast."

The comment board is still open, so perhaps all my loyal readers could get into a debate on one of the topics I've presented. I look forward to reading your intelligent barbs upon my return.

Until then, Cheerio!
