Get your Gmail here!
I have six G-mail invitations to send out. So if you want one, email me at matt_astle@yahoo.com. Yeah, send it to my Yahoo! account, and I'll send it back to you from my Gmail account. I just don't want to risk exposing my gmail address to potential spammers lurking on the Net.
I like Gmail overall. So far I'm really only using it to communicate with Shelly, but once they have all the bugs worked out and all the features developed, it'll be a fantastic email platform. The big kick is that they give you a gig of space--100 times more than even the newly expanded Yahoo! gives you. And they keep each conversation (each email and all the replies to it and replies to the replies) as a separate entity, to ensure context. Of course, when you or your co-correspondent forget to hit the reply button and just compose a new email, it's separated forever from its kin, but whatever. The best part is that you don't have to organize your email--you stick "labels" on them, instead of stuffing them into folders, so you can have more than one label per email. Then you can use Google to search for the email you want when you're looking for one. It's clean and pretty and I like it.
