Winding Up

Having just finished reading Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council for my adminstrative law class, I have come to a stunning realization: I cannot think of any case important enough that I have heard about it that I have not read and studied. As a third-year law student, I'm aware of some other cases (Chevron is a great example) that I know are very important, but that aren't very prominent among the general public (in the way Roe v. Wade is, for example). And I've still read all of them now.

What this means for me is that law school is essentially over. There's nothing left to look forward to. I've read all of the important cases. Once we discuss this case in class tomorrow, I'll know all of the really important stuff. Sure, I've got more classes between now and May, but if I haven't heard of it by now, it can't be all that important.

Six months to go, and my presence here is already officially pointless.
