Next In Line?
News about Chief Justice Rehnquist's illness is even more interesting for me this month than it was over the fall. The professor of the one class I'm enrolled in for the January term, currently a judge on the 10th Circuit in Salt Lake City, is widely speculated to be on Bush's short list of potential replacements. I've heard such rumors advocated by everyone from fellow students the Wall Street Journal. I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised if, having gone to Harvard Law School, one of my professors (or even one of my classmates!) ends up on the Supreme Court. I just think it's funny that it had to be a visiting professor who normally lives in good old Utah.
