No More Pencils, No More Books

I'm done with my final final. School is over. I'm no longer a law student (what do I call myself now? I'm not a lawyer yet. Just an unemployed slacker?). The three years of mental development are at an end.

I'm sitting on the fourth floor of the Harvard Law School library, easily the most beautiful room on campus. The sun is shining through the huge windows, the green leaves are visible on the trees outside, and the gold lettering on the Latin inscriptions on the walls is glittering. I'm listening to my official "Finals Are Over" song, "The Gnocchi (Ne-O-Kee) Man" by jazz bassist Brian Bromberg (I'm sure I'm the only person I know who knows this song, but it makes me feel light and happy every time I listen to it--just like finishing finals makes you feel).

I've already done a few retrospective posts, and I suppose I'll probably do a few more. I think it's a healthy thing to look back and see if the three years and hundreds of hours of studying and thousands (and thousands) of dollars have been worth it. But that's not now.

Now I just sit back, listen to the saxophone and bass, and breathe deeply. I'll never go to school again.
