Potter Redux and other Post-Bar Fun
So now that the bar exam is over, what am I going to do with myself? I've been asking myself that question over and over lately, and I think I've found the answer:
Read the entire Harry Potter series from Year 1 to Year 6.
Shelly, of course, has already finished Book 6, and she's dying to talk about it. Bless her heart, she's been very good about not hinting at anything that happens. But I don't want to read it right away, since my memory is sketchy about some of the important details of the previous books. I read the first four five years ago, at about the time Book 4 came out. I read Book 5 two years ago when it came out. I've seen all three movies. But the passage of time has gnawed away at my grasp of things like what's Voldemort's motivation, and what flavors Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans come in. Plus, I understand the author has been dropping clues about things to come since the beginning.
So yesterday I reread Book 1 cover to cover (remember when Harry Potter books were short?). I still don't understand exactly what Voldy's physical state was during that book, but I noticed that it was Sirius Black who loaned Hagrid his flying motorcycle the night Harry's parents died. So I'm excited to continue with that.
Other than Potter, I'm going to try to fix up this new house I've been neglecting for the three weeks we've been living in it. We've sort of had it in a temporary state, pushing off all major decorating decisions till "after the bar exam." Well, that time is now.

Comments:
An excellent idea. I just passed the Patent Bar and I want to do the same. I'm just finishing the Chronicles of Narnia and plan on moving on to the Harry Potter series.
