Merry Christmas to My Feet

This was the Christmas of footwear for me. I received no fewer than three pairs of footwear for Christmas, amazingly all from the same person--my loving wife. See, it seems that I have a couple of things that I wear on my feet so often, they wear out. I had to receive replacements for my Lands End All Weather Mocs and my faux-sheepskin slippers. The old ones had holes and just needed to go. When I would walk around in my old slippers, I would literally leave a trail of slipper debris behind me. That's how old and destroyed these slippers were.

But the extra icing on the cake was my new microwavable booties. I don't know why, but I guess the circulation in my feet doesn't work so good. So every now and then I find myself running to the bathroom, where I place my feet in the tub or the sink, and soak them in hot water for a while. That's all fine and good, but it's kind of inconvenient to have to sit on the edge of the tub for 20 minutes to get my feet warm.

So now I have little booties for my feet that have a beanbag full of some heat-conducting, sweet-smelling, beady substance. You pop them in the microwave for a minute and a half, pop them on your feet, and voila! Warm feet! Then slip them into the sheepskinny goodness of my new slippers, and my feet have never been so happy. Merry Christmas indeed!
