Tooth for a Tooth
Let it be known to all the world that I am the father of a baby who HAS HER FIRST TOOTH! We had been looking for it for a while, but when her ear infection set in over Memorial Day weekend, we realized that the crying and sadness were due to that, not to teething. When we took her to the doctor for her ears, we were told that teeth were on their way, but it would be "probably a couple of weeks still." So we stopped looking for teeth.
Fast forward two weeks to this past Tuesday, when Shelly took Ellie back to the doctor for her post-ear infection checkup. The ear infection has healed nicely, she was told, and oh--there's a tooth! Shelly was shellshocked. We have no idea how long it's been there, and its twin brother is on the verge of poking out too. But we're celebrating Tuesday as the day of Baby's First Tooth because that's when it was discovered.
Are we bad parents because it took a doctor to make such a discovery?

Comments:
We didn't discover Jared had molars until he had 3 (but we think they all came in fairly close together). The 4th came in just a few days after that.
