ISO Spoiled Reviews

I like to read movie reviews. They're usually a heck of a lot shorter than the actual movie, but if they're good, sometimes they can serve as a good-enough substitute for the real thing. Especially if it's a movie I'm not all that interested in seeing, I can read the review and then know what people are talking about if it comes up.

But I especially like to read movie reviews after I've seen the movie. For some reason, it's an extra dose of fun for me to go back over my own memories of the movie and compare them to the reviewer's impressions. Did we notice the same things? Do we agree on how good the movie is? Now that I know what they're basing their opinions on, why do two different reviewers react in different ways to the same material?

The only problem with this is that movie reviews are always written for an audience of people who haven't seen the movie yet. Therefore, the movie reviewer omits any "spoilers" (information about the plot that would spoil the movie for someone who hasn't seen it). Sometimes there are hints about certain spoilable plot points, but to a reader who has already seen a movie, sometimes a conventional movie review just doesn't dwell on the most interesting things, like the surprises and plot twists, the climax, the ending, and often even the overall themes (for example, see any review of Million Dollar Baby).

So what I'm looking for is somewhere on the Internet where I can go to read post-viewing reviews. Discussions of the movie that are intended for people who have seen it and want to think about it some more. For that matter, I'd like this sort of thing for the books I read--usually I watch movies with Shelly, so at least I can discuss them with her if I want to, but we don't always read the same books.

I'm not talking about some discussion board where idiots write in to say, "This movie was so great!!!!!!!!!" Also, I don't want a site like moviespoilers.com (which I just Googled up), which simply posts a spoiler-laden narrative summary without any insight or commentary. Rather, I want an intelligent writer writing a thoughtful and critical essay about a movie or a book that doesn't pull punches about plot points.

Is there such a place? Is there a daring movie reviewer out there who wants to distinguish him- or herself from the pack by establishing such a site? I bet I'm not the only one in this boat.
