One Year of Shampoo
I don't know whether to be proud of my tightfisted economy, or whether to despair at my advancing age and receding hairline, but this week I am very conscious of the fact that I am just about to finish off the bottle of shampoo that I started a year ago.
Last year, I made a very firm and serious mental note that I first opened my bottle of shampoo the day after Memorial Day 2006. I've always been aware that I don't use much shampoo (I've become more acutely aware of it since I married the luscious-haired Shelly, who uses more expensive shampoo and who uses a lot more of it than I do). But I wanted to find out just how little I use. What's my shampoo mileage, I wondered?
The answer is that it's one 22.5 oz. bottle per year. I have a couple of shampooings left in the bottle, but it'll probably be all gone by this time next week. Then I'll have to see if I can beat the record. The moral of the story: either my hair is unclean, I'm going balder than I think, or I'm just some sort of magical shampoo Scrooge. Go figure.
