Welcome Back
The thing about blogging is that you have to keep doing it regularly. If you don't, then 1) people stop coming, and 2) even when you have a moment and an idea, you don't make a post because you feel like you owe the world an explanation for why you've been off the air for so long (of course, even if you offered such an explanation, no one would listen, because of point 1 above).
So what's needed, when one takes a month off blogging is just a pointless post saying "I'm back" so that when other ideas and thoughts come they can stand on their own.
This is that post.
Please blame my job as much as my laziness. For months I have been looking forward to last Wednesday, October 17, as it was the final day of closing arguments for the big copyright case I've been involved with for the past year. It's over now, and today I'm mostly just cleaning out my office from the dregs of the last 12 months. Of course, that doesn't explain why I haven't posted since last Wednesday. Chalk that one up to inertia.
