Announcing Annie
This morning the Astle family grew. We went to the hospital for our scheduled C-section, and all went according to plan. We were blessed with a healthy, gorgeous baby girl, whom we named Johanna Lynn Astle ("Annie"). Both she and Shelly are doing very well at the hospital, and Ellie and I are home, just hanging out. Annie weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces and was 21.5 inches tall, which led the doctor to exclaim that even if we'd wanted a natural birth, he would have made us go C-section with a kid that size. She looks a lot like Ellie did on her birth day, but with a little more hair (concentrated in the back) which is a little darker (might this girl be a brunette like her mother?), and longer eyes and a smaller nose. I readily admit that newborns aren't usually all that cute, but take a look at this cutie:

Congrats to you all! I am so happy Shelly is doing well, she looks great, and yes, Annie is really perfect. Too cute!
Happy Birthday Annie!
