The Big Three Oh
So I've been 30 years old for a week now. It was a busy week last week, with work and other activities, so I didn't have a whole lot of time to stop and think about my birthday, other than the trip we made Monday night to Red Hot & Blue (where Ellie learned how yummy ribs are) and Saturday night when we had a bring-a-plate-of-cookies party.
Of course, 30 is a monumental birthday because both digits change. In fact, the thing that I've noticed is most different about this birthday as compared to others is the fact that instead of thinking how my life has changed in the last year, I'm thinking of how life has changed in the past 10 years. And since my 20th birthday, boy has a lot changed. I remember that day well: it was P-day in my "jungle" area of my mission, and we did sealings at the São Paulo temple. A great day. But I bet things will end up being more different between my 20th and 30th than between my 30th and 40th.
But let's not even think about that. I'm still getting used to no longer being a 20-something.
